Started in 2011 by members of the UMPS Baseball Training (UMPS), UMPS Strikes Out Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)3 Illinois non-profit organization dedicated to assisting amateur sports officials diagnosed with cancer or other serious illnesses. Initially formed to help fellow umpire Dave Pluda who was diagnosed with Stage IV Colon Cancer in June 2011, founders Jeff Siegel and Bob Ciulla know there are, and will be, other Dave Pluda’s that will need assistance.
